Destination Wedding – France

Destination wedding – France. September saw the team board another plane, this time to the Loire Valley and Chateau Saint Loup for a gorgeous destination wedding. Keith and Krisja came to me about 14 months before their wedding via their friends, Lisa and Dimitris, whose wedding we had planned in London back in 2015 and at which they were guests.

Based in New York, they wanted to marry in a chateau in France, somewhere with a bit of history. This was a real challenge, we hadn’t planned a wedding in France before, but we love a challenge.

The very last place they looked at was the stunning Chateau Saint Loup and what a place this is. We planned a full weekend of celebrations, a rehearsal dinner at the front of the chateau, the wedding outside with dining in the old orangery and then a brunch the next day in the olive groves.

The sun shone all weekend and it really was just perfect. France can be tricky to plan in, if you are miles from nowhere, which we were!! However the chateau recommended the caterer and we found an amazing florist, Lisa from French Flower Style who is English and lives in France. We did take some of our team from the UK. Tori Harris, who made Krisja look amazing. The boys from MLC, James and Sean who bloody rocked the party. The team at Box Productions  who provided all the lighting design, so important as the chateau is so old, there is not outside lighting at all!!

With little French between us, we needed coaches, boats, wine tasting and archery for the guests!!! Good job we had someone on the team that could speak French. Claire, was a life saver, find out here.

Krisja found Cinzia and I’m so glad she did. I have never, in 6 years, had images of my weddings like these, they just took my breath away
