13 Nov Marquee wedding – Essex
Marquee wedding – Essex. July saw two amazing marquee weddings on our own patch on the same day. Yes, two on the same day. Natalie headed up one of the weddings and I headed up the other one. They couldn’t have been more different in style and that’s what we love about our job. No two brides are the same and no two weddings. Your wedding should reflect you as a couple and our job is to bring your ideas to life.
Epping was the location for my wedding. Big thanks to Rhianna, Monica and Helen, my amazing assistants for the day. This was a hot summer day and when you are working in a marquee, it’s really hot!!! The brief for the wedding was to build a marquee in the grounds of mum and dads apartment, and to use what was already in the garden. I gave the job of marquee design to the brilliant guys at Academy marquees. We have worked together a few times before and they really are the best. Ed decided to build the marquee over the trees that were already there, all 7 of them! It was stunning.
When I look at the style and design of marquee weddings, I am always wary of the the vast amount of cream space. You either need to take your tables up or pull your ceiling down, so thats what the wonderful Leanne and Jamie from Wild About Flowers did. The bride and groom were blown away of how gorgeous we made this marquee.
The entertainment was a big one for my couple. They wanted dinner to be fun and I have to say I wasn’t convinced with what they wanted to do, but boy was I wrong. The brilliant Paul Hardcastle on saxophone with Trevor Francis on vocals rocked. I’ve never had so much fun at a wedding breakfast and I doubt the guests had either. You can imagine the party they created in the evening with DJ Nana and Sammy on bongos. It was a party that ended at 2.30am.
The whole day was filmed by the very lovely and exceptionally talented Jessica Tottman. We have worked together a few times now and her work gets better and better.
When I was looking for a photographer, I really had only one person in mind for it. We had worked together the year before and I loved his images and working with him. As always I give clients about 3/4 options of photographers for them to consider. Emma, my bride, literally picked one and that was it. Great minds think a like and all that. She picked the one I hoped she would. the absolutely brilliant, Brett Harkness and the photos are amazing. Alongside Richard, they captured this stunning day and some. Here are only a handful of the beautiful photos.
