Surrey wedding planner, Louise Perry Weddings have been featured on the gorgeous wedding blog, BLoved. We very rarely do styled shoots, as we usually don’t have the time with our wedding planning workload. This year things have been different and we suddenly found we had a lot more time on our hands to get creative.

We were asked by the lovely Hannah McClune if we would be interested in collaborating on a shoot at the fabulous Farnham Castle. Without any weddings to deliver, we jumped at the chance. A few years ago I spent a week cursing, sailing around the Mediterranean with my family and one of the ports of call was the beautiful French town of Villefranche. Now this place is the perfect location for a destination wedding, let me tell you. More than that is was the inspiration for our shoot.

Provence blue, a colour I love. Its soft and romantic and this was the style of the shoot we wanted to create. Having a castle wedding is going to be romantic, but we wanted to make it gentle and I hope thats what we managed to create with this shoot.

Planning a styled shoot is like planning a wedding. You have to assemble a great team of suppliers to create the vision, as you do when you plan a wedding. As wedding planners in London, we are only as good as the team we have around us.

There were some people I knew I wanted to work with on this and some people that I have worked with many times before who I knew would bring the ideas to life.

Styled shoots are long days, as are weddings and so its important that you have the right people around you. Something to bare in mind when you are planning your own wedding. Don’t just think of it as hiring a load of different suppliers to provide each element of your day. Think of it as putting together the best team to work together.
