How much does a London wedding planner cost?

How much does a London wedding planner cost? A very good question and when you start to look for a wedding planner in London or the UK to help you plan your wedding you should do your research as the costs of planning a wedding can vary enormously.

How much does a wedding event planner cost?

You will usually find that a wedding planner’s fees are inline with their experience and how long they have been in business. The more experienced the planner, the more expensive they will be, but of course, you are paying for their vast experience and their breadth of knowledge.

Full wedding planner services in London, UK

Wedding planners also charge differently for their services. Full wedding planning is the main service and this will cover pretty much everything associated with the planning of your wedding. A wedding can take on average 250 hours to plan. That’s a lot of hours, especially if you are trying to fit it around your full time job. This is when a  wedding planner comes into their own. When you hire a wedding planner, they will be able to give you the time you need and take away any wedding planning stress from you. This, in my opinion, is priceless. The majority of wedding planners charge for this as a % of your overall budget spend, which is around 10-15% with a minimum fee. These minimum wedding planning fees vary from £4,000 to £24,000!

Can I afford a wedding planner?

Some wedding planners in London will charge on a fixed fee basis and this will be given after a consultation. A wedding planning consultation will allow the wedding planner to understand more of the brief and of course the amount of work that is involved in planning your wedding. As a guide, you will find the more complex the wedding, and the more guests you have, the more the wedding planning cost is likely to be.

What you have to remember is the benefits you will have when you hire a full time wedding planner, i.e. this is how they earn their living.  Believe me, there are a lot of part-time wedding planners and wedding planning hobbyists so don’t get me started on those. They will of course be cheap wedding planner services, but do you really want cheap, or do you want an experienced wedding planner to plan your special day?

If a UK wedding planner is running a business, then he or she will have costs running this business and will have to charge appropriately for the amount of time he/she is going to put into planning your wedding.
